I have made it to South Korea!
I must say, it's really weird being here. I had so much expectations and really hyped up my two-three months here, that I could only really go downhill from there. The problem with setting too high of a standard will most likely result in you only feeling disappointment if things don't turn out the way you expected. (Or maybe I'm just being pessimistic. In that case, just ignore me). So remember kids, make sure to set really low expectations. You'll only feel pleasantly surprised if things turn out to be nice.
Anyhow, it's been a few weeks since my arrival and I've had a mix of experiences. I knew that my identity here as a not-so-traditional Korean would stir up some interesting adventures and encounters. For those of you who don't know, I am a hardcore TCK who spent her 19 years of life in 6 countries that were not her home. Blah blah blah. But no one's going to read this blog anyways (since it's mainly a word vomit page for me to reflect upon when I'm old and look like a raisin).
Anyways, my red hair, dark skin, and fashion choices sure have caused some conflict amongst the elderly. Where I'm staying, there are so many old people that I kind of get taken aback when I see a baby. It almost seems like I'm seeing something that should not belong here.
